Frequently asked questions

Which Boss compressor is best for Load Assist kits?

For Load Assist kits where you are only inflating airbags, a compact compressor like the Boss PX01 is usually ideal. It is sized to adjust bag pressure without the need for a large tank and is simple to install.

What if I want to inflate tyres or run air tools as well?

If you want to inflate tyres or use air for other purposes, you will need an air tank and a larger compressor with a longer duty cycle, such as the PX06 or the heavy-duty PX07. These compressors can deliver more air for longer periods without overheating.

Do I need a tank with my compressor?

For basic Load Assist airbag adjustment only, you can run a suitable compressor with or without a small tank. For ride-levelling systems, full air suspension, or frequent tyre inflation, a tank is strongly recommended so the compressor is not cycling constantly.

How should I mount a Boss compressor?

Mount the compressor on a solid surface, away from excessive heat, water splash and debris. Provide adequate ventilation around the motor and use the supplied vibration isolators. Follow the wiring instructions carefully and use the correct fuse and relay as specified.

What is the maximum pressure this compressor can achieve?

The PX07 12V Air Compressor has a maximum pressure of 200 psi, making it suitable for a variety of applications that require high pressure.

What is the recommended working pressure for the PX07 compressor?

The recommended working pressure for the PX07 compressor is between 0-150 psi, ensuring optimal performance during operation.

What applications is the PX07 compressor best suited for?

The PX07 compressor is ideal for inflating air suspension systems, tyres, and powering pneumatic tools, thanks to its 100% duty cycle and robust performance.

What safety features does the PX07 compressor include?

The PX07 compressor includes a check valve to prevent backflow and a 40 amp fuse for electrical protection, ensuring safe operation during use.

Is the PX07 compressor suitable for off-road or heavy-duty applications?

Yes, the PX07 compressor is designed for heavy-duty use, making it suitable for off-road applications where reliable air supply is essential.
