Adding to goal of delivering the top quality products in an environmentally way BOSS is changing the way we make the plates that form part of our Load Assist kits.
We are transitioning from standard zinc coated products to a more robust and corrosion resistant coating that sets them apart from all other load assist kits components.
Most manufacturers of similar products use the old technology of zinc coating that is prone to rust and the manufacturing process releases chemicals that can damage the environment and are a heath risk to humans such as Chromium, Lead, Cyanide and Cadmium (a great toxic brew). So if a better product can be produced that is rust resistant and environmentally friendly why not use it ! Well we now do.
BOSS is now using a process called EDP otherwise known as E-coat or Electrophoretically Deposited Paint and Powder coating.
What does that mean ? Unlike other electroplated or powder coatings, the EDP process is capable of coating deep recesses in complex shapes while maintaining a uniform thickness. It provides corrosion resistance under neutral salt spray test conditions. This environmentally friendly coating has enabled the automobile and outboard motor manufacturers of the world to give extensive corrosion warranties in worldwide markets under severe salted roads and saltwater environments.
EDP is the first part of the finishing process, the second part is Powder Coating.
